FAQs

How much will the denture cost me?

The cost of a denture varies greatly depending on the type of denture you require. Our promise and guarantee to you is that we will discuss with you all the options and the costs associated with making your denture and we will always do what is best for you under the circumstances. If you are in a private health fund and have dental cover, you should check any rebate with your health fund and calculate the out-of-pocket expenses. We are preferred providers for HBF and we also accept all other health funds. Furthermore, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) provides an extensive range of dental benefits and services to eligible veterans, current and former serving members and their families. If you need help in obtaining benefits or services, or you are not sure of what you are eligible to receive, please contact DVA.

When should I replace my denture?

Dentures will typically need to be replaced every five to 10 years. Patients find that the fit of their dentures changes over the years as their jaw bone shrinks. Since it is normal for your mouth to change and denture teeth to wear down, have them checked by our friendly Prosthetist or dentist during a six monthly dental visit.

How often should I visit the dentist now that I have dentures?

Even if you have lost all or some of your natural teeth, you should still visit the dentist once every six months. Our dentist here at Radiant Smiles Dental Care will be able to evaluate the fit of your denture, offer suggestions for denture care and hygiene, and check for issues that may arise, such as oral cancer.
