Dr Anand Ponnusamy
Dr Anand is our emergency dentist; he is available after hours for any of your dental needs. Dr Anand is a General Dentist with a special interest in Implant Dentistry, Orthodontics and Complex Dental Treatments.
Dr Anand Ponnusamy obtained a bachelor’s in dental science from Annamalai University, India, in 2008. Following that, he pursued a master’s in dental public and Primary Health from the University of Western Australia in 2012.
His membership with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons enables him to stay on top with the latest trends, further refining his expertise.
“I have been practising dentistry in the private sector for ten years. I grew up in India, where I graduated from Annamalai University in 2008. I immigrated to Australia in 2010 and completed my master’s in dental public & Primary Health in 2012 at UWA. I am also a proud member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
I have a vision of taking the feeling of fear and anxiety away from patients who tend to associate them with every visit to the dentist. Therefore, since practising, I have developed a particular interest in laser dentistry. I’m currently completing a masters with LA&HA (Ljubljana, Slovenia), which will make me specially trained for hard and soft tissue laser procedures in dental and cosmetic treatment. These skills will allow me to make my vision a reality and making dental procedures a more pleasant experience for every patient.
I have also undergone CEREC Advanced training with Spear Education (Scottsdale, Arizona, USA), which manages worn dentition. This uses facially generated treatment planning to customise a smile design to meet individual patients’ needs.
I would describe myself as a good team player and an amiable and fun-loving individual who enjoys all aspects of dentistry. I have an 18-month-old son who keeps me on my toes, and I also love to travel. My other hobbies include listening to music and bushwalking.”
Dr David Duan
Dr David is our emergency dentist; he is available for any emergency and general dental treatment.
Dr David trained at the University of Western Australia, attaining a Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2018.
Being a patient-oriented dentist in Yokine, Dr David enjoys working closely with patients, providing them with personalised, high-quality care whilst educating them about available treatment options in an easy-to-understand manner.
Dr David specialises in a spectrum of dental practices and procedures ranging from cosmetic teeth whitening to intricate implant surgery. He is also entirely hands-on at unwinding and relaxing anxious patients due to having a warm and gentle chairside manner.
Dr David can upskill and stay abreast of the latest in evidence-based dentistry by investing a substantial amount of time, effort, and resources towards higher education.
Dr Justin Soon
Dr Justin is our Implant, All-on-4 and complex dental dentist.
Dr Justin has exceptionally high personal standards and will always make every effort to give you the best outcome possible. He enjoys and practices all aspects of dentistry but has focused his practice on surgical and cosmetic elements such as complex wisdom teeth removal, implant therapy, veneers, and crowns. Dr Justin takes the responsibility of transforming his patient’s lives with a custom smile makeover very seriously, and this is one of the most rewarding aspects of his career.
Dr Justin is one of the most dedicated and passionate dentists in Perth and will constantly strive to provide you with the best experience possible, no matter what kind of dental situation you are in. He will never judge you or your teeth and will try his very best to be as gentle as possible.
Being a patient of Dr Justin’s means he will always be available to his patients around the clock and is happy to talk to you anytime, should you need any advice.
Dr Justin completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Western Australia. Dr Justin first completed his surgical implant training under Dr Glen Liddelow, Dr Graham Carmichael and Dr Brent Allan at the Branemark Centre. Dr Justin regularly attends world-class dental conferences, lectures, and workshops and, in 2016, became a graduate of Loma Linda University – School of Dentistry (Implant Continuing Education Program). Furthermore, by demonstrating advanced aesthetic skills in Implant Dentistry, he was designated the “Master Clinician”. Continuing his education, Dr Justin has also completed an All-On-4 training with Dr Armando Lopes and Dr Ana Ferro from the Malo Clinic in Portugal. This treatment concept can not only provide you with a new set of fixed teeth but transform how you feel about your smile completely!
In 2019, Dr Justin successfully received the prestigious Diploma of Implant Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, further affirming his knowledge and passion for implant dentistry.
Dr Justin is a certified Invisalign Provider and can work with you in discussing treatment options that can help improve how you feel about your smile. Dr Justin is an active member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA), Australian Prosthodontics Society (APS), Australasian Osseointegration Society (AOS) and Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics and Training (AADFA). He is constantly committed to learning new techniques and consolidating his knowledge.
Dr. Rachael Wu
Dr Rachael graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine from The University of Western Australia and is passionate about providing holistic care for her patients. Going to the dentist can be nerve racking for some patients, so she tries to understand the patients’ needs and create a safe and calm environment. She enjoys giving back to the community through multiple charities and organisations. Some of these experiences include volunteering as a dentist on Rescue Day and volunteering as the lead dental assistant and recruit officer at Tzu Chi International Medical Association (TIMA).
At TIMA, she also helped secure the ADHF Healthier Smiles Community Service Grant, which was utilised to design and run oral health education programs, empower patients to maintain good oral hygiene and help fund dental treatments for disadvantaged patients. She likes all aspects of dentistry, with a special interest in prosthodontics, oral surgery, and aesthetics dentistry. Rachael is a member of the Australian Dental Association and regularly attends CPD courses to ensure she is up to date with the latest research and dental discoveries. In her spare time, she likes to go swimming, scuba diving, running, baking, learning languages, hanging out with friends, and trying new food.
Dr. Asfiya Anjum
Dr Asfiya graduated from Bangalore, India in 2012 and completed her Australian Dental Council examination after relocating to Australia in 2020. Asfiya and her young family have lived in the East Coast of Australia, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane before settling in Perth. Dr Asfiya believes that a visit to the dentist should be pain-free and a comfortable experience for her patients. She loves all aspects of dentistry, keeping up with continued professional developments, with the latest courses in oral surgery and implant dentistry. In her spare time Dr Asfiya loves spending time with her two children and family, she loves to travel and has a secret passion for Harry Potter books.
Dr Shalaka Ashtaputre
Dr Shalaka is our cosmetic dentist here. She performs Invisalign, Veneers, Teeth whitening, and general dentistry.
Dr Shalaka Ashtaputre obtained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2000 to embark on a lifelong journey towards becoming a technically skilled dentist in Yokine.
Her comprehensive approach to patient care validates her confident understanding and application of modern dentistry.
Dr Shalaka’s goal is to maintain a warm, friendly, and welcoming dental atmosphere within the practice to put the clientele immediately at ease.
Dr Shalaka is devoted to providing the highest standards of care whilst placing a relentless focus on preventative dentistry. She is constantly updating and advancing her dental knowledge through annual CPD education.
Dr Shalaka loves to travel, cook, and spend quality time with her loving family in her spare time.
Dr Aston Taminsjah
Dr Aston is our general dentist; he is happy to provide Crowns, Root Canals, Dentures, and most aspects of general dentistry.
Dr Aston received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from UWA. He graduated with distinctions such as the Clive Rogers Prize for Special Needs Dentistry.
Dr Aston takes pride in his work. Be it fabricating a new set of prosthetic teeth or keeping your teeth in good condition. He keeps himself up to date on research and CPD to provide dental work that will last.
