Denmark sits on the south coast about 55 kilometres west of Albany. If you have been making that drive for anything beyond a check-up, our clinic on South Coast Highway now covers the same treatments closer to home.

How a child feels about their first few dental visits tends to stick. Our approach with children is unhurried. We explain what is about to happen in words they understand, show them the instruments before using them, and parents are welcome to stay beside the chair the whole time.

Hygiene and check-ups for adults
An adult appointment usually covers an examination, x-rays or an OPG where needed, a gum assessment, and a scale and clean. If there is gum disease we will plan a deeper clean rather than treat it in one rushed visit. We also do fluoride application, polishing, and referrals where a case needs a specialist.

Choosing a dentist in Denmark
Denmark is a small town, so the choice comes down to a handful of practical questions rather than a long shortlist. These are the ones worth asking of any practice, including ours.
- Are they registered, and what have they trained in? Every practising dentist in Australia is registered with the Dental Board of Australia, and you can look anyone up. Beyond registration, ask what a dentist has focused on. Dr Anand works in implants, orthodontics and complex treatment, so those cases do not have to leave town.
- Can they do the whole job in one place? A practice that only handles routine work will refer you elsewhere for anything larger, which from Denmark means a drive. Ask which treatments are done on site before you need one.
- What happens when something goes wrong at nine at night? Toothache and broken teeth do not wait for opening hours. Ask whether there is an after-hours option or whether you would be waiting until the next working day.
- Do they explain the cost before starting? You should get a written estimate before treatment begins, and a clear answer about payment plans and what your health fund covers.

Check-ups and prevention
Most problems are cheaper and easier to deal with early, which is the whole point of a regular check-up. A preventive appointment covers:
- An examination and clean to remove plaque and hardened tartar
- X-rays or an OPG where we need to see between or below the teeth
- Fluoride application and fissure sealants, particularly for children
- A gum assessment, and an oral cancer check as part of the examination
Cosmetic treatment
If you want to change how your teeth look rather than how they work, we offer teeth whitening, porcelain veneers and composite bonding, Invisalign clear aligners, and implants or bridges to fill gaps. We will tell you plainly when a cheaper option would get you most of the way there.
Repairing damaged teeth
Restorative work is about getting a tooth functioning again, and where possible keeping the natural tooth rather than replacing it. That covers fillings, crowns and bridges, root canal treatment to save an infected tooth, and dentures or implants where a tooth cannot be kept.
Emergency dental care in Denmark
A knocked-out tooth, a broken tooth, swelling or pain that keeps you awake all count as emergencies. Dr Anand is our emergency dentist and is available after hours, so you do not have to drive to Albany or wait out the weekend. If a tooth has been knocked out, keep it in milk and call us straight away.
Family dentistry
We treat the whole household in the one practice, from a child’s first check-up to dentures. Booking a family together usually means fewer trips into town, which matters if you are coming from Nornalup, Peaceful Bay or Walpole.
What treatment costs
Prices are the same at Denmark as at our other clinics, and we will give you a written estimate before any treatment starts. Payment plans begin at $25.00 a week, and we accept Afterpay, Zip Pay, Zip Money, Humm, Fund My Dental and SuperCare. Health fund rebates can be claimed against your treatment in the usual way.
Sleep dentistry and sedation
Some people avoid the dentist for years because the chair itself is the problem. Sedation is there so that anxiety does not turn into a decade of untreated decay. We offer two options depending on age and the treatment involved, and we will talk through your medical history first.
Happy gas for children under 13
Nitrous oxide, which most children know as happy gas, is breathed through a small mask that sits over the nose. It works within minutes and wears off almost as fast, so a child can usually go back to school or play the same day.
It suits:
- A first visit, where the aim is to make the next one easier
- Cleans, examinations, fillings and other short treatments
- Children who are anxious, or who find it hard to sit still
Children stay awake and can answer questions throughout, and a parent can stay in the room.
IV sedation from 13 years
For teenagers and adults we offer intravenous sedation, where the dose is adjusted during treatment rather than fixed at the start. You stay conscious but deeply relaxed, and most people remember little of the appointment afterwards.
It suits:
- Long appointments, or several treatments done in one sitting
- Severe dental anxiety or phobia
- Wisdom teeth removal and implant placement
- Patients who find it difficult to tolerate treatment awake
You are monitored throughout, and we will go through your medical history and medications at a consultation beforehand so we can pick the right approach.

Our Denmark clinic will open on Monday, 10 August 2026, at 5/31 South Coast Highway, on the same highway as our Albany clinic.
- Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Closed Saturday and Sunday.
- Parking: parking is available at the front and at the rear of the clinic.
- Access: the clinic has wheelchair access and accessible toilets.
