What is a denture?
A denture is an appliance which is worn to replace lost or missing teeth. Two types of dentures are available – complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.
How Are Dentures Made?
At the Radiant Smiles Dental Clinic, we have a team of staff that ensure your experience with us is a positive one. We will assure you, give you all the options, consider and respect your opinion and ensure you are happy at every stage of your appointment. At your first appointment you will be introduced to our highly experienced Prosthetist. The denture development process takes a few weeks and a couple of appointments. Once our Prosthetist determines what type of denture is best for you, the general steps are to:
- Make a series of impressions
- Create models, wax forms, and/or plastic patterns in the exact shape and position of the denture to be made.
- Cast a final denture
- Adjustments will be made as necessary
